Allston Dana was a noted bridge designer and grandson of Poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Allston designed the George Washington, the Triborough, the Bronx-Whitestone and three Staten Island bridges in New York. He worked at The American Bridge Company in Elmira, New York for ten years.
